Daybreak v6: €59,000 More and a Much Smaller Drawdown

Daybreak v6 made about €59,000 more on the same US500 test, and the equity drawdown fell from 31.1% to 10.68%. Balance drawdown went from 29.24% to 21.72%. Same morning breakout. One new exit. That is the whole improvement, and it is a large one.

I kept the New York range, the VIX filter, and the Medium profile. The new exit closes a trade that is still going the right way once H1 strength has given back 25% of its peak since entry. If you read the original opening-range write-up or the v4 drawdown note, those pages use older windows and a different deposit currency. The numbers below are one paired test: US500, 1-minute OHLC, 1 January 2017 to 29 September 2026, €10,000 start. The S&P 500 is the index behind that CFD.

What Daybreak v6 improved

The session is still 09:00 to 10:00 New York, with stop orders on both sides, the VIX filter, the M15 Supertrend filter, and the same trailing exit. What changed is the management of a trade that is already open. Once the position is at least an hour old, if direction still favors it and strength has given back 25% of the peak since entry, I close. I do not wait for the move to die all the way into the normal stop.

A small dip in strength does nothing. The 25% is measured from that trade’s own peak, across the closed H1 bars since entry. Combo does not pick long or short at the open. That is why the trade count barely moved, 1,935 against 1,953, while the equity path got much calmer.

Same window, side by side

Eighteen fewer trades, a slightly lower hit rate, a higher average trade. CAGR barely moves because both curves already compound hard. The part that changed the bot is the path: €72,504 as the deepest euro dip against €88,416, with €59,000 more profit on top, and an equity drawdown of 10.68% where the old run printed 31.1%.

What I tested and left out

Using Combo to filter the morning breakout was worse. Confirming the second pyramid leg with rising strength was worse. Pulling the stop to breakeven on the fade was worse than closing. A 15% giveback closed too often. H1, flatten, 25% is the set that shipped, and it is the set in the table above.

This is the v4 engine plus that one exit. On this window it made more and sat through a much shallower equity dip. It is still a backtest on one symbol, one deposit currency, and one profile. I would not treat €927,863 as a forecast, and I would not mix it with the older dollar figures from the earlier posts.
